Your Metro East concrete & pool contractor
Your driveway has been cracking and sinking for years. Every spring the frost heave makes it worse, and now it's a trip hazard every time someone walks to your front door. You know it needs to go. But you don't want to hire one company to break it out, a second to haul it away, and a third to pour the new one. That's three schedules to manage, three invoices, and three chances for something to go wrong.
That's exactly why Custom Concrete & Truck Service was set up the way it was.
Why Custom Concrete & Truck Service
We're based in Belleville, IL and have been doing concrete work across the Metro East for 20 years. Here's what makes the job go differently when you work with us.
We run our own trucks. Tear-out and haul-away are part of the job, not a separate call you make. We demolish the old slab, load it on our trucks, and get it off your property before we start the new work.
We prep the base in-house. Most concrete failures trace back to a bad base, not the concrete itself. Because we own our excavation equipment, we grade and compact the subbase properly so the surface you pay for actually lasts through Illinois winters.
One crew, one timeline. You deal with one point of contact from the first call through the final pour. No subcontractors, no markup, no waiting on someone else's schedule.
Concrete Contractor
Most of what we do is concrete flatwork for homes and businesses across the Metro East. If you're in Freeburg, Belleville, O'Fallon, or anywhere in St. Clair County, these are the most common projects we handle.
New driveways are our highest-volume work. Concrete driveway installation starts with proper grading so water drains away from your garage and doesn't pool at the low spots. We set the right thickness for daily traffic and pour a surface built to handle Illinois freeze-thaw cycles. If you want a decorative finish, stamped concrete driveways give you the look of brick or stone without the cost of pavers. Exposed aggregate driveways are another option when you want a textured, slip-resistant finish with a cleaner look than a standard broom finish.
For patios, we pour everything from plain broom-finished slabs to full stamped concrete patios with patterns and sealed color that hold up in the sun and weather. Concrete patio installation is sized to your space and graded to drain. We also pour concrete sidewalks, walkways and paths, steps and stoops, garage and shop floors, and slabs and pads for sheds, hot tubs, and equipment.
For businesses, we handle commercial concrete flatwork, including ADA-accessible walkways, approaches, and loading pads, scheduled to keep disruption to your operation low. The full range of stamped and decorative concrete options is available for commercial work too.
Driveway Contractor
Replacing a driveway is more involved than just pouring new concrete over the old. Concrete driveway replacement means tearing out the existing slab first, re-grading the base, and starting fresh. A lot of contractors will tell you to hire a demo crew for that part. We don't. Because we run our own trucks, tear-out and haul-away are included in the replacement job. One crew handles the whole thing.
When the base is exposed, we look at what caused the cracking and sinking in the first place, whether it was poor compaction, drainage issues, or just age, and we address it before the new concrete goes in. That's the step that determines whether the new driveway lasts 30 years or 10.
Swimming Pool Contractor
We install inground fiberglass pools, not just the concrete around them. Inground pool construction starts with the excavation. Because we own our dig equipment, we don't need to bring in a separate excavating company. The same crew that digs the hole sets the pool shell and backfills it.
Fiberglass pool installation brings in a one-piece shell that we excavate for, set, level, and backfill. Fiberglass has a smooth, low-maintenance surface and is built to last. Once the shell is set, we pour the pool deck around it, with slip-resistant or stamped finishes that stay cooler underfoot and handle foot traffic, water, and sun. The pool and pool deck package keeps everything on one timeline with one contractor. The deck lines up with the coping and finished pool edge the way it should, because the same crew set the pool and poured the deck.
Paving Contractor
New surfaces and approaches for driveways, commercial lots, and property entrances fall under this work. Whether you're replacing an old residential driveway or need a new commercial approach poured to handle regular truck traffic, proper base prep and the right concrete spec for the load make the difference. Site prep and grading is handled in-house, so the ground under the new surface is compacted and drained correctly before the pour.
Construction Company
The "Truck Service" part of our name is real. We run dump truck hauling for gravel, dirt, rock, and debris across the Metro East. This is what keeps our concrete jobs moving without waiting on outside haulers. If you need material delivered to a job site, or debris hauled off your property, we can handle that as a standalone service too.
Excavating Contractor
Concrete removal and replacement is one of the services we get called on most, and it's one we can do cleanly because of our equipment. We demolish the old surface, haul the debris, prep the base, and pour the new work. Concrete demolition and haul-away is also available on its own if you've already got a pour lined up or you just need old slabs removed.
Site prep and grading is where a lot of concrete jobs either go right or wrong. Soil in this part of Illinois shifts and settles. Proper compaction, slope, and drainage built into the base are what keep the surface above it from cracking and moving. We do that work with our own equipment so there's no gap between the excavating contractor's work and ours.
