Pool + Pool Deck Package: One Crew, Start to Finish
Most homeowners who want an inground pool eventually run into the same problem. The pool contractor and the concrete contractor are two separate businesses. They have separate schedules, separate communication chains, and no real accountability to each other. When the deck doesn't line up with the pool edge, or the deck pour gets pushed because the pool isn't ready, you're the one making calls trying to figure out who dropped the ball.
We do it differently. We build the pool and pour the deck ourselves. Same crew, same timeline, one point of contact from the first shovel to the final finish.
What the Pool + Pool Deck Package Actually Includes
This package covers inground concrete and gunite pool construction along with the concrete deck that surrounds it, handled by the same contractor from excavation through final finish.
We own the excavation equipment, so we dig the pool ourselves. We don't outsource the excavation and wait for a third party to finish before we can start forming. Once the hole is dug, we form and pour the pool shell or apply gunite depending on the design, then pour the deck after the pool structure is in place and ready for it.
That sequence matters. When the pool and deck come from separate contractors, the deck often has to be modified after the fact to fit the pool's actual dimensions or coping profile. When we do both, we account for the pool geometry before we ever set forms for the deck.
For the deck surface, you can choose a standard broom finish, an exposed aggregate texture, or stamped concrete in patterns that mimic stone or pavers. Stamped pool decks are popular because they stay cooler underfoot than plain concrete and hold up well to water and foot traffic. We'll talk through your options during the estimate.
Because we run our own dump trucks, debris hauling and material delivery are built into the job. There's no waiting on outside haulers to clear the excavated dirt before the next phase can start.
When This Package Makes Sense
You want a pool and you haven't hired anyone yet. Starting with a package contractor is simpler than sourcing a pool builder, then separately finding a concrete contractor who can work around the pool builder's timeline.
You've heard stories about pool projects that dragged on. A lot of delays in pool projects happen at the handoff points between contractors. When we own both scopes of work, there are no handoff points.
You want the deck to match the pool from the start. If the deck is poured by the same crew that built the pool, the measurements, the coping, and the edge profiles are already accounted for. No gaps, no awkward transitions.
You want decorative concrete around your pool. Stamped concrete pool decks add texture and color that a plain broom finish can't. We pour and stamp in-house, so you're not hiring a specialty decorative contractor on top of everything else.
Our Process
1. Free on-site estimate. We come out, look at the site, and talk through what you're picturing. Pool size, shape, depth, deck finish, and drainage all factor into the scope and price. We give you a written number before any work starts.
2. Excavation. We dig the pool with our own equipment. Excavated material gets hauled off in our own trucks.
3. Pool construction. We form and pour the pool shell or apply gunite. The deck design is already planned at this stage so there are no surprises when we get there.
4. Deck prep and pour. Once the pool structure is ready, we prep the base around it, set forms, and pour the deck. We grade for drainage so water runs away from the pool and away from the house.
5. Finishing. Deck surface is finished to your chosen spec: broom, exposed aggregate, or stamped. We seal stamped surfaces before we leave.
6. Cleanup. We haul off any remaining debris. Our trucks handle this in-house.
What It Costs and What Affects the Price
Pool and pool deck projects vary more than most concrete jobs. Size, depth, pool shape, deck square footage, and finish type all affect the final number. A basic rectangular pool with a standard broom-finish deck will cost less than a freeform gunite pool with a stamped and sealed deck.
Because we own our equipment and don't mark up subcontractors, our pricing reflects actual labor and materials without an added layer of contractor overhead on top.
The most accurate way to get a number is a free on-site estimate. We'll come out, measure the site, talk through your design ideas, and give you a written price before any work begins. There's no pressure and no obligation.
