About Custom Concrete & Truck Service
Custom Concrete & Truck Service is a concrete contractor and pool builder based in Freeburg, Illinois, serving St. Clair, Madison, and Monroe County. The company handles complete projects in-house, from demolition and excavation using its own trucks through the finished pour, eliminating the need for multiple subcontractors. We specialize in residential and commercial concrete work including driveways, patios, pools, and decks, as well as inground pool construction. The key to how we work is vertical integration. Owning and operating our own trucks and excavation equipment lets us control quality from base preparation through the final pour.
How We Got Started
We've been working concrete in the Metro East for 20 years. We're based on North Main Street in Freeburg, right in the middle of the three-county area we serve. Over those two decades, we've poured driveways in O'Fallon, built pools in Edwardsville, replaced cracked slabs in Waterloo, and handled commercial flatwork from Belleville to Collinsville.
The "Truck Service" part of our name isn't an afterthought. We run our own dump trucks for hauling gravel, dirt, rock, and debris. That started because we needed to control the job from the ground up, literally. When you depend on outside haulers or separate excavation crews, you lose control of the schedule and the base work. Bad base work is why most concrete fails. We solved that problem by owning the equipment ourselves.
What We Do
Our work falls into two main areas: concrete flatwork and inground pool construction.
On the concrete side, we pour driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, slabs, and commercial flatwork. That includes standard broom finishes and decorative options like stamped concrete and exposed aggregate. If you have old concrete that needs to go first, we handle the tear-out and haul-away with our own trucks. You don't need to find a separate demolition company.
On the pool side, we build inground concrete and gunite pools from the ground up. We dig with our own equipment, form and pour the pool, and then pour the surrounding deck. Because we handle all of it, the excavation, the pool shell, and the deck, it all comes from one crew on one timeline. That's a different situation than hiring a pool company and then separately finding a concrete contractor to do the deck.

Why People Hire Us
We own our trucks and equipment. That means we're not waiting on a subcontractor to show up with a skid steer or calling around for a hauler when your old driveway needs to come out. We bring it all. The job stays on schedule because we control every piece of it.
Full tear-out and haul-away is part of the job. If you have a cracked driveway that needs to come out before we pour a new one, we break it up, load it, and haul it away ourselves. You don't coordinate a second company. You call us, and one crew handles it start to finish.
We prep the base ourselves. Most concrete failures trace back to what happens before the pour, poor grading, a soft base, bad drainage. We do the grading and compaction in-house, the same crew that pours the concrete is the crew that prepares the ground underneath it. That matters for how long your concrete lasts.
One contractor for concrete and pools. If you want an inground pool with a concrete deck around it, we build the pool and pour the deck. You're not managing two companies, two schedules, or two sets of decisions about how the work connects. It comes from us.
We've been doing this work in the Metro East long enough to know how Illinois weather affects concrete. Freeze-thaw cycles in St. Clair County are rough on slabs that weren't poured at the right thickness or sitting on a properly drained base. We account for that from the start, not after something goes wrong.
