We plan the base and joints around those conditions rather than pouring as if the ground will stay still.
Freeze-thaw and drainage. Winters on this side of the Metro East cycle above and below freezing repeatedly, and water that sits in a poorly graded driveway pries cracks open a little wider each time. We set the slope to move water away from the house and off the slab.

6. Curing. We tell you exactly how long to stay off it before foot and vehicle traffic.
