Inground Pools near Waterloo Courthouse Square
Waterloo is the seat of Monroe County, and the old courthouse square anchors a genuinely historic downtown — one of the better-preserved in the Metro East. The neighborhoods around the square run to deep, established lots, and beyond them Waterloo opens quickly into the wide rural properties that make Monroe County what it is. Both kinds of backyard are good candidates for an inground pool.
We build inground fiberglass pools throughout Waterloo and the surrounding Monroe County countryside. Fiberglass fits how people use their yards out here: a tough, smooth, low-maintenance shell that installs quickly and stands up to Illinois freeze-thaw without the long, disruptive build a gunite pool requires.
Why Fiberglass Works Well around Waterloo
Quick install on lots you care about. A fiberglass shell is built off-site and set in one piece. On a deep historic lot near the square, or a landscaped rural property outside town, a short dig-and-set window means far less torn-up ground than a weeks-long gunite build.
Made for our seasons. Fiberglass flexes with minor ground movement, which handles Metro East freeze-thaw better than rigid alternatives, and the gel-coat surface stays smooth and easy to clean.
Room to do it right. The larger lots common around Waterloo give us space to place the pool and the deck the way they should be — good sun, good access, drainage set to move water away from the house.
Excavation and Deck — One Crew, Our Own Equipment
Owning our equipment is where the difference shows. The "Truck Service" in our name is real: we run our own excavators and trucks, so the dig, the haul-away of spoil, setting the shell, and the concrete deck around it are all one crew on one schedule.
That matters especially on rural Waterloo properties, where you don't want a string of separate subcontractors trekking in and out over weeks. A lot of pool projects stall at the handoff — the pool crew sets the shell and leaves, and the homeowner is left chasing a concrete contractor for the deck. We do both. We excavate, set and backfill the shell, then form and pour the deck ourselves, so the pool and the deck line up and the whole job stays in one set of hands.
Pool + Deck on One Timeline
A pool isn't done until there's a solid, safe surface around it, and because we're a concrete company first, the deck is planned from day one — not tacked on later.
We can pour a standard slip-resistant deck or a stamped and colored decorative finish. Either way the deck is graded to drain water away from the pool and the house, formed to meet the coping cleanly, and finished to stand up to wet feet and Illinois weather season after season.
Our Process
1. Free on-site consultation. We come out, look at the yard, talk through size, shape, placement, and deck options, and check access and drainage. You get a written price before any work starts.
2. Excavation. We dig with our own equipment and haul off the spoil.
3. Shell set and backfill. We set the fiberglass shell, level and plumb it, and backfill properly so it stays put.
4. Deck forming and pour. We form and pour the concrete deck, graded to drain and finished to your choice of surface.
5. Finish and startup guidance. We walk you through the surface, the cure time on the deck, and getting the pool ready to use.
